Town Hall - Lead Pastor Search

As All Souls prepares for Pastor Don’s retirement on April 30, 2027, we are entering an important new chapter in the life of our spiritual community. Our Lead Pastor position is now being advertised, and soon the Search Committee will begin the thoughtful work of considering candidates. Your voice is an important part of that process.

Please join us on Sunday, October 18, beginning at 12:00 noon, for an autumn soup and salad buffet, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. This will be a wonderful opportunity to share a meal and conversation before our Town Hall begins.

At 1:00 p.m., Rev. Dr. Jerry Troyer, our Pastor Search consultant, will facilitate the Town Hall. Jerry will introduce us to the search process and timetable, share the materials being used to tell prospective candidates about All Souls, and help us consider together what we hope for in our next Lead Pastor. Through small-group conversations, everyone will have an opportunity to share the qualities, gifts, and priorities they believe will be important as All Souls looks toward the future.

The luncheon and Town Hall are free of charge, but please RSVP so we can prepare enough food for everyone.

If you are unable to attend in person, you may join the Town Hall at 1:00 p.m. via Zoom. Please register for the Zoom option so we can include you in our plans for small-group conversation.

This is more than a search for our next pastor—it is an opportunity for us to listen to one another, reflect on who we are as a spiritual community, and imagine together the next chapter of All Souls. We hope you will be part of this important conversation.

About the Town Hall Facilitator

Rev. Jerry Troyer became a minister in 2005. He holds a Master's Degree in Religious Studies and a Doctor of Divinity from Emerson Theological Institute. Jerry serves as the board president of the Affiliated New Thought Networrk and works as Director of Relationship Development for Urban Street Angels, an organization providing bridge housing for homeless transitional youth, ages 18 to 25. A published author, Jerry travels and speaks regularly at spiritual centers across the country. Jerry lives with his beloved Golden Retriever, Maggie, in the San Diego area, and has a son, Brandon, and seven grandchildren who live in Oregon.

Jerry's services as a Pastor Search consultant are being provided free of charge to All Souls through an Extraordinary Service Project grant.
