Start Your Day Off by Connecting to Your Body and the Earth!
This Gentle Morning Yoga offers a supportive opportunity to begin your week in community. The practice will center stability, spaciousness and interconnection. We will ground the practice with a theme, and move into meditation followed by gentle yoga asana (poses). We close with restorative postures to come into deep connection with ourselves and the earth. Class is intended to cultivate grace and openness towards our bodies, as they are, and connect yoga to life off the mat. All levels are welcome!
About the Facilitator:
Alex (she/they) is a local yoga teacher, writer, and spiritual activist. She believes in the interdependence of our ultimate spiritual and social liberation, and sees each of our unique embodiments as pathways to freedom. Alex completed her 200 hour Yoga Training in 2023 at Tough Love Yoga in Atlanta, GA, and is pursuing her 300 hour training at Laughing River Yoga in Winooski, VT. She practices with Lama Rod Owens, which informs her teaching and dedication to the Earth, ancestors and liberation. Alex turned to gentle and restorative yoga upon noticing the burnout she experienced in graduate school. Her body led the way, and she became curious about ways of living that could center restoration over productivity. She practices and teaches yoga as a method to move beyond the confines imposed by the external world and meet herself deeply. She is a Reiki Level II practitioner and astrology lover, and integrates these modalities into her teaching to bridge the individual with the collective and cosmic. When she is not practicing yoga or communing with spirits (a rare spectacle), you can find her walking along the Winooski River, loving on her dog, or dancing.
